Ptarmigan is no longer operating in Helsinki.

Ptarmigan existed as a project space in Vallila from 2009-2011 and a mobile curatorial/creative platform until 2014. We no longer exist as an organised collective, but this website will continue to serve as an archive of the activities produced as/at Ptarmigan during these years.

How ta tawk & dans rite
interactive dance performance : media art : live music
11 February, 2012 00:00 16:00

How ta tawk & dans rite is a site specific participatory performance incorporating dance, live music and digital art. Joey Chua Poh Yi, Rhys Turner, Anna Rouhu, and Guadalupe López will explore interchangeable professional roles and cultural norms in a performance which questions both the rites of passage into a given culture and the correctness of doing things right. Thematically How ta tawk & dans rite will link narrative vignettes of searching for love whilst taking a comic look at experiences encountered in foreign cultures.

Joey Chua Poh Yi:   Rhys Turner:
Anna Rouhu:   Guadalupe López has a double career as both a cello player and a researcher. Having studied cello performance with Rafael Ramos and Ángel Gª Jermann at the Madrid Royal Conservatoire of Music, López is currently completing her PhD on the field of Cognitive Psychology of Music with Professor J. Ignacio Pozo.   Please note: there will be no intermission (performance length is approximately 45 minutes); there will be no set seating positions (standing, walking, and floor seating); performance admission is free however donations are warmly welcome.

This performance is supported by the National Arts Council Singapore.
